Report: Clinton apologized to Obama following election loss
A new book about the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign reported that Clinton called then-President Barack Obama to apologize for her historic loss.
On Tuesday’s “Pat & Stu,” Pat Gray, Stu Burguiere and Jeffy Fisher talked about “Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign,” which explores the downfall of Clinton’s presidential bid.
“She should apologize for that,” Stu said. “[She and President Obama] believed in the same things, and the fact that she couldn’t beat … the guy they were rooting to go against.”
At the time, President Obama told Clinton to concede once it was clear the election was lost, the book claims.
Stu mused on the emotional roller coaster that Election Day must have been for Clinton and compared it to the sad ending of the documentary “Mitt,” which captured moments from the 2012 Mitt Romney campaign. Polling at the time indicated a Romney win.
