Former Vice President Joe Biden, as his daughter stated, is “considering” to run for the White House in 2020.
Ashley Biden, who runs a nonprofit organization for criminal justice reform in Delaware, said, “I hope so,” according to Women’s Wear Daily. But he hasn’t made a final decision yet.
Joe Biden considered running for the White House in 2016 but after his son, Beau died, he backed down.
Ashley Biden stated that now he is “busier than ever.” He is focusing on (Biden) Foundation and Cancer Moonshot, but also to help to other Democrats to be elected. She said that her father is heartbroken after his son’s death and that he mentions him every single day. He’ll make a decision when that time comes.”
Ashley stated that her father is full of energy.
“The man is sort of supercharged. So I think, if we get to that (decision) point, yeah, I think he will do it,” she said. “But a lot can happen in three years. You just don’t know. Life happens. God-willing we’re healthy and strong and we go for it. You just never know.”
“It’s a little ways away. A lot can happen in four years and we know this as a family. If he is in good health, knock on wood, and seeing what the landscape is at the time, yeah, I think he is considering it,” she said.
Earlier, Biden stated that he should’ve run for president in 2016, “I think I could have won.”
“I had a lot of data and I was fairly confident that if I were the Democratic Party’s nominee, I had a better-than-even chance of being president,” Biden stated in March.
When Biden was asked about his plans for 2020, he never answers it directly.
Talking about current political climate, in May, he stated, “I may very well do it.”
After Biden organized a new political action committee his wife stated that’s a sign that he will take part in national politics.
“Joe is not going away and you know that, all of you. I mean, he loves politics, he loves what he’s doing and he said he would stay involved,” Jill Biden stated, continuing that he was “going to be involved in the midterm elections.”
Anyhow, Biden is one of the most popular political figures on the list of Democrats who are considering to run in 2020. Biden has a rating of 74 % according to recent Morning Consult/Politico poll.
